Hello again future auto shippers, on this page we’ll try to help you understand the Auto Shipping Industry. That way you can make the best decision for yourself as a paying customer.
Usually, it starts with you looking for a price to ship your vehicle. And, this is really the most important part to understand because most customers ship one or two vehicles in a lifetime. So, it’s not something many people know about until they get left trying to catch a flight and the driver never showed up to pick up the vehicle. They did however gladly take your money and time during the process…
So, hopefully, you’re not in this situation and you found this page instead. Let’s get back on track.
This industry is full of companies that have never set foot in an auto transport truck/trailer. Therefore they don’t know what most routes take to get done from a cost standpoint. This is usually where they will start the process of misquoting a potential transport. So when you receive a quote and the rate looks good from your perspective 75% of the time it won’t work for the drivers. Especially when fuel rates are high.
So now you’re calling for updates and they don’t have any updates because they’ve quoted you a rate that won’t work for the carriers/drivers. Now you’re a little behind the eight ball but that’s ok, there’s good news. This industry works best without much notice because there are drivers in most areas looking to grab one of two more vehicles and get on the road.
We’ll take it from here. Basically, this is how you find a company like ours. We don’t advertise like the other shippers so a little digging is needed to find us. When you call we’d explain this is most likely what is bogging your transport down. We’d then get some basic info from you and reach out to drivers in the area ready to load your vehicle.
In short, now your vehicle is on the way to its new home and you’re telling yourself “That was much easier than the other company”.
